This repository is for creating the docker image for doing network performance testing using sockperf.
You have to run a server and a client for this purpose.
docker run -p image_name bash run.sh s
You can run client in two modes:
- Throughput
docker run image_name bash run.sh c th ip_of_server
Results
sockperf: Total of 859056 messages sent in 5.000 sec sockperf: NOTE: test was performed, using msg-size=1500. For getting maximum throughput consider using --msg-size=1472 sockperf: Summary: Message Rate is 171795 [msg/sec], Packet Rate is about 343590 [pkt/sec] (2 ip frags / msg) sockperf: Summary: BandWidth is 245.755 MBps (1966.038 Mbps)
- Under Load
docker run image_name bash run.sh c ul ip_of_server

This is very basic test we can include more test if you want to contribute.
When contributing to this repository, please first discuss the change you wish to make via issue, or any other method with the owners of this repository before making a change.
Please note we have a code of conduct, please follow it in all your interactions with the project.
- Ensure any install or build dependencies are removed before the end of the layer when doing a build.
- Update the README.md with details of changes to the interface, this includes new environment variables, exposed ports, useful file locations and container parameters.
- You may merge the Pull Request in once you have the sign-off of two other developers, or if you do not have permission to do that, you may request the second reviewer to merge it for you.
Visit sockperf-container if you want to create an issue of contribute.
